These "Terms of Use" ("Terms") govern your access to and use of bio-med-search.ai (the "Service"), operated by bio-med-search.ai ("we," "us," or "our"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you may not use the Service.

1. Description of the Service

bio-med-search.ai is an AI-assisted biomedical research and literature search platform. It enables you to explore, summarize, and interact with publicly available scientific and biomedical information, including content retrieved from external sources such as PubMed. The Service is provided for informational and research purposes only.

2. No Medical or Professional Advice

The Service does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, treatment, or clinical decision support. All content generated or displayed by the Service is for informational purposes only and is not a substitute for professional medical advice. Always seek the advice of a qualified healthcare provider. For medical emergencies, contact a healthcare professional or emergency services immediately.

3. AI-Generated Content Disclaimer

The Service uses artificial intelligence models to generate responses. You acknowledge and agree that:

• AI-generated content may be inaccurate, incomplete, outdated, or misleading;
• Outputs should be independently verified before use;
• The Service is not designed for clinical, regulatory, or diagnostic use.

Your use of AI-generated content is entirely at your own risk.

The response is derived from a limited set of the most relevant search results and is not intended to represent an exhaustive review of all available information.

4. User Accounts

To access certain features, you may be required to create an account. You agree to provide accurate and current information, maintain the security of your account credentials, and accept responsibility for all activity under your account. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

5. Subscriptions and Payments

Certain features of the Service may require a paid subscription ("Pro"). Payments are processed through third-party payment providers such as Stripe. Subscription fees are billed in advance on a recurring basis. Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled before the renewal date. We do not store your full payment card details.

Academic Discount

Eligibility for the Academic Discount rate is contingent upon the use of a verified institutional email address. This discounted rate is a one-time promotional offer valid for a continuous 12-month period.

One-Time Use Policy: If an Academic subscription is canceled before the end of the initial 12-month discount period, the discount is considered forfeited. Should you choose to resubscribe at a later date, the account will be subject to the then-current standard "Pro" rate. We reserve the right to verify institutional eligibility at any time and to adjust account pricing if a user is no longer affiliated with an accredited institution.

6. Cancellations and Refunds

You may cancel your subscription at any time. Cancellation will take effect at the end of the current billing period. Subscription fees are non-refundable, except where required by law or explicitly stated otherwise.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• use the Service for illegal, harmful, or fraudulent purposes;
• misuse, interfere with, or disrupt the Service;
• attempt to reverse engineer or exploit the Service;
• submit malware or malicious code;
• misrepresent your identity or affiliation;
• use the Service to provide medical or clinical advice to others.

We reserve the right to investigate and take appropriate action for violations.

8. Fair Use and Service Limitations

The Service is intended for reasonable, personal, and non-abusive use. While certain subscription plans may be described as offering "unlimited" access, such usage is subject to fair use principles designed to ensure service reliability, performance, and stability for all users.

To maintain quality of service, we reserve the right to implement reasonable safeguards and technical measures, which may include:

• Usage Constraints: Rate limiting, temporary throttling, usage delays, and per-session or per-thread query limits.
• Monitoring: We may monitor usage to identify activity that exceeds typical user behavior or constitutes excessive, sustained heavy usage.
• Abuse Prevention: Measures to prevent high-frequency automated queries or any attempts to circumvent our system safeguards.

These measures may be applied dynamically and without prior notice. Circumventing or interfering with these safeguards is strictly prohibited and may result in the temporary suspension or termination of your access to the Service. Use of the Service constitutes your acceptance of these fair use conditions.

9. Intellectual Property

All content, software, design, and functionality of the Service are the property of bio-med-search.ai or its licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service for personal or internal research purposes only. You may not copy, distribute, sell, or exploit any portion of the Service without prior written permission.

The Service may integrate with or rely on third-party services to support functionality such as hosting, AI-based processing, payment processing, and access to publicly available research content. We do not control and are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or content of any third-party services or resources. Use of such services may be subject to the third party's own terms and policies.

11. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided on an as is and as available basis. We disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including as to accuracy, reliability, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.

12. Limitation of Liability

bio-med-search.ai shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or exemplary damages, including but not limited to personal injury, loss of data, loss of profits, or business interruption, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.
